Running
Scared was a devised 90-minute performance and workshop that explored
the impact of bullying on the individual, the family and the wider
community. Four actors play a wide range of roles in a fast moving
storyline, which interweaves primary and secondary school settings,
life at home and the outside world. Poetry and imagery were used
to highlight how it feels to be bullied, whilst slow motion sequences
challenge the audience to question the choices made by the bullies
– and by those who witness their behaviour. Running Scared
explored direct and indirect bullying behaviour and engaged young
people in practical and creative activities to identify safe strategies
for coping with bullying.
